Dr. Eytan Behiri is the Corporate Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) at NYC Health + Hospitals, formerly the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC). NYC Health + Hospitals, operates the public hospitals and clinics of New York City. A public benefit corporation with $6.7 billion in annual revenues, Health + Hospitals is the largest municipal healthcare system in the United States serving 1.4 million patients, including more than 475,000 uninsured city residents. Dr. Behiri also holds an appointment as Executive-in-Residence for the Health Informatics Masters program he founded and as Adjunct Asst. Professor at the School of Health Sciences & Human Services, Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY. Eytan is a licensed physician executive with over 20 years of business, managerial and operational experience in medical informatics, electronic medical records, medical devices and clinical decision support. Prior to Health + Hospitals, he held management positions with Northwell Health (Formerly known as North Shore - LIJ Health System) of Lake Success, NY as Director, Clinical Information Systems, Evidenced Based Medicine and Order Sets and with PeriGen (E&C Medical Intelligence) Inc. as a Director in both the R&D and US Operations areas and served previously as Adjunct Professor of Management at Dowling College’s MBA program in Oakdale, NY. Eytan served as a Medical Officer (Lieutenant) in the Israel Defense Forces Medical Corps. He’s a graduate of the School of Medicine at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, did his medical internship at Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem, and is currently finishing an MBA program (with a concentration in Health Services Management) at Hofstra University. In lieu of his sleep time, Eytan is a board member of the Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center in Roslyn, NY and is the Chair of the Long Island Chapter of Israel Scouts – ‘Shevet Gefen’.
